Poon hill yoga trek also popularly known as Annapurna Sunrise Yoga Trek is one of the most popular and relatively easy treks that meander through the beautiful ethnic villages of Annapurna Region. Invigorating through some rhododendron forests, different rivers, paddy rice fields, Poonhill Yoga Trek in Nepal will let you feel the Himalayan Panorama with an essence of yoga while providing you with the opportunities to get close to the local culture and tradition.
The main attraction of this trek is the viewpoint of Poonhill which provides the panoramic and jaw-dropping view of Annapurna South, Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Manaslu Himalayan ranges, Lamjung Himal and others. We will also witness the amazing sunrise over the Majestic Himalayas that will leave the long lasting impression for years to come and we observe the snowy Himalayas awakening to the red hues of the rising sun.

Itinerary for this yoga trek :

Day 01   : Arrival in Pokhara

Check in to the retreat for settlement by the evening. Overnight in the retreat after dinner. If you are in Kathmandu, you can drive (6-7 hours)/fly (30 minutes) to Pokhara. We will be there to pick you up on your request.

Day 02   : Pokhara – Tikhedhunga (1525m) 3-4hrs

Early morning wakeup then we have tea before yoga. We practice yoga for a hour  Poonhill yoga trek in Pokhara, Nepal then have breakfast. After breakfast we drive to Nayapul (50KM). We start our trek towards Tikhedhunga. On the trek we pass through few towns, reach to Tikhedhunga. Overnight in Tikhedhunga.

Day 03   : Tikhedhunga – Ghorepani (2850m) 5-6hrs



After tea and Breakfast in the morning we start our Trek towards Ghorepani. IMG20170427064048.jpgOn the we cross a stream on a suspension bridge. Trek to a Magar Village which is called Ulleri. Above the village where the trail climbs gently through the cultivated fields, rhododendron and oak forests then stop at Nangethanti for lunch and short rest. After lunch we start walking towards Ghorepani through beautiful forest. We do yoga in Ghorepani then dinner. Overnight in Ghorepani.

Day 04   : Ghorepani – Poon Hill (3210m) – Tadapani (2630m) 6-7hrs

Wake up early in the morning then a hour hike to Poonhill. Where you can enjoy with Panoramic Mountain Views & beautiful Sunrise View from the eyes of your mind. Then we Trek down to Ghorepani and have Breakfast then start our Trek to Tadapani meaning far water. Water supply in this village from long distance. The trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali. Then descend to reach Banthanti and reach Tadapani, do yoga in the evening. Overnight in hotel.

Day 05   : Tadapani – Ghandruk (2000m) 4-5hrs

Wake up in the morning andpractice yoga. After yoga we have breakfast. Then our trek continues towards Ghandruk. After walking around 4 hours we reach Ghandruk, Gurung village which is the most interesting tribal Gurung village in Nepal, which provides Gorkha soldiers. It has excellent close-up views of Annapurna South and Fishtail Himalayas. Overnight in hotel.

Day 06   : Ghandruk – Pokhara (910m) 3-4hrs

Today is the last day of the program. We hike down to Nayapul and from there drive to retreat. You can join the Ayurvedic massage around the evening, have dinner and retire. You can leave the retreat in the next morning after breakfast.


Day 1

Check in to the retreat for settlement by the evening. Overnight in the retreat after dinner. If you are in Kathmandu, you can drive (6-7 hours)/fly (30 minutes) to Pokhara(200KM) on this day, we will be there to pick you up.


Day 2

Early morning wakeup then we have tea before yoga. We practice yoga for a hour Poonhill yoga trek in Pokhara, Nepal then have breakfast. After breakfast we drive to Nayapul (50KM). We start our trek towards Tikhedhunga. On the trek we pass through few towns, reach to Tikhedhunga. Overnight in Tikhedhunga.

Following are the daily activities for Poon Hill Yoga Trek

   Morning

  • Early wake up
  • Morning meditation (mantra recitation for awakening vibration)
  • Pre- Asanas practice ( stretching and loosening exercise helps to prepare joints for the further trek ahead, relief from muscle pain and prevents muscular tensions).
  • Asanas (posture), Surya Namaskar, Pranayama (breathing exercises), Shavasana (relaxation)
  • Breakfast
  • Trekking starts after breakfast
     

    Afternoon

  • Healthy lunch and short rest
  • Afternoon trek (we do some stretches on the way)
  • Short break for snacks
  • Depending upon the weather we stop for afternoon guided relaxation

   
    Evening

  • Yoga Nindra (Complete Guided meditation and relaxation to recharge and rejuvenate your body and mind)
  • Dinner
